January Week 2
David Monroe had been hired on as a jockey in the middle of last year so roughly 7 months he has been with Nature Blues. He loved his job and would do so upon retirement for now he was on his way to saddle up the True Enough colt Dark Intentions. Beauty was out of the well accomplished Moondance so he would be set to try out for the Dubai and the Breeder's Cup. He was a small colt like his sire standing around 15.3 hands high. He preferred the distance and with his height he was quite fast on his feet.
Beauty stood proudly next to his jockey bobbing his head in a kind manner and when David was on his back the colt pranced towards the tracks with his tail risen and his head held high. Dark Intentions was entered in the January Maiden Dirt where he would face stable mate Avengeable and Tiger Heart. This race was a ten furlong race and David was sure Beauty could pull that off with not problem.
Coming up alongside them was Carlos Sanchez on the back of Radiation Therapy, a son to HoF Radiance out of Santana's Moment. The stallion had been up and down lately and many hope the stallion achieves in the senior season. He was entered in the Quick Start Cup against Maliah and Lethal Dose. They had the skills and he had the experience along with Lethal Dose. Duke would definitely pull in to stop the Witch Creek colt. Duke loved to run and he would do anything to make his owners happy.
Beauty certainly shared the skinny stance as Moondance once held but he was certainly a fighter beyond all reason even with his smallish size he was to be watched for his speed and courage. The two pondered out with stares glanced upon them both before both jockeys aimed for them to move forward into a steady gallop. The two started the run before Duke took off larger then his juvenile Uncle beside him. Snorting through his nostrils, Duke hasted passed Beauty where soon as the back stretch hit them, Dark Intentions decided to pace the older stallion at a faster pace but at a steady distance.
Radiation hovered over the small colt as the turn hit them, Duke decided it was enough and pushed away from Beauty with all of his drive and will to do so, he rose his head and left Beauty behind before passing the wire line with Beauty soon to follow. David Monroe was still pleased with this breezing since Beauty had not thrown him off his back just yet. Both horses needed these wins and they would endure the end results as it so comes.
